                       WELCOME to KINDERGARTEN

                                                   2018-2019

Parents,

So excited to have your child this year!! This year we are going to be "HAPPY CAMPERS" taking a hike through kindergarten!!  Kindergarten is a BIG YEAR .... this year we will work on learning to read and increasing our vocabulary, enhancing our math skills, exploring our state, get to know Jesus and his followers, and some really cool science experiments.

Thank you for allowing St. Rita to be a part of your child's life, helping them in their cognitive, emotional, physical, and spiritual growth and development. We truly feel blessed!

** PLEASE READ WITH YOUR CHILD DAILY AND MARK IT ON THE READING LOG SHEET

** Homework is a vital part of the Kindergarten curriculum... it serves as reinforcement and/or enrichment, sets the foundation for good study habits, makes the connection between home and school (learning takes place at both, parents have an active role in their child's education and helps them to evaluate their child's progress), and teaches responsibility.

** Please check the NOTES section weekly for any updates

                                    WELCOME BACK AND HAPPY 2019......

THERE IS ALSO A "HANDWRITING PAPER" LINK LISTED UNDER FORMS/DOCUMENTS THAT CAN BE USED FOR WRITING HOMEWORK.

- Folders go home and return to school daily (very important) ** please clean out for child's folder daily! They are very proud of the work (academic and other wise) included in folders.

- LABEL everything (the children do not always know what is theirs at the beginning. Ie, jumpers, shorts/shirts, sweater/sweatshirt)

- Please allow your child to bring their SRS sweatshirt or green sweater daily -in their bag- I try to keep it cool in the classroom

** ASK YOUR CHILD SPECIFIC QUESTIONS AS TO WHAT THEY DID DURING THE DAY! ie: books we read, centers, children they played with,  ask them about our "SMARTBOARD" .... most importantly let them know how happy you are to see them and to hear about their day!!!
